Belt Maker

2 ratings

BeltMaker is a geometry nodes powered tool.

Update 1.5 is compatible with Blender 4.2+

With simple sliders:

  • adjust length/scale/holes
  • control seams spreading/length/thickness or just turn them off
  • pick style: flat/grooved
  • choose start/end type
  • add middle buckle/extras
  • preview high poly subdivs
  • output high or low poly
  • set low poly holes on/off for baking (changes low poly and adds holes-caps to high poly if off)
  • create UVs, apply preview checker material

Meanwhile, enjoy the full control of your belt's final shape with Blender's curve modifier!

You can also drop your own meshes into BeltMaker's buckles and extras collections to make it your own.

OR if that's not enough go crazy with Custom Belt - a simplified geonodes version set with placeholder meshes.

To use BeltMaker, simply set folder containing BeltMaker.blend file as Asset Library and you're ready to go!

Changelist:

BeltMaker 1.5 Maintenance update (Compatible with Blender 4.2+):

-Cleaner UI with panels and menus

-Fixed stitches UVs

-Removed unnecessary Smooth by Angle modifier that would be added in newer versions of Blender

BeltMaker 1.4 Thickness update:

- It's now possible to adjust thickness of the belts. Video presentation: https://youtu.be/4leEvmxsmko

BeltMaker 1.3 UVs update - compatible with Blender 3.5:

- UVs no longer need to be retrieved from attributes - they will appear automatically once geometry nodes modifier is applied.

- This update is fully compatible with Blender 3.5, it is recommended to use BeltMaker 1.3 with this version of software.

Previous updates are still available in product files for legacy use with Blender 3.4 if needed.

BeltMaker 1.2 Big update:

- new asset: BeltMakerAuto - Belt will adjust it's length to the curve automatically. Basically rest of modifiers work exactly the same, only with 'Slide Holes' in place of 'Bonus Length' slider.

BeltMaker 1.1 Hotfix:

- fixed issue where crash could appear after dropping BeltMaker asset onto the scene or saving

- now there is an AnchorBeltmaker object inside BeltMaker collection. It keeps the collections order when dropping from asset browser to prevent clutter. Can be deleted once you drop asset onto the scene. Hopefully it's only temporary solution.
